    …Declares Gov. Fubara Missing

By Benard Akoma 20/03/25

A Chieftain of a Pan Niger Delta Forum, PANDEF and former publicity secretary of the group, Chief Anaba Sara-Igbe has accused Nyesom Wike, immediate past governor of Rivers State and current minister of federal Capital Territory, FCT as being responsible for the current spate of bombing of the oil facilities in Rivers State. Sara Igbe hinged his allegation on the fact that Wike had in recent past threatened to do so in his public utterances.

Fielding questions on Arise Television Morning Show programme, March, 20, 2025, Sara-Igbe drew inference to Wike threat during a recent visit to Rivers State where according to him Wike was quoted to have said, “if Ijaw can bomb oil facilities, Ogoni can also bomb oil facilities and Ikwere can as well bomb oil pipe lines.”

Sara Igbe maintained that there is no need looking too far in identifying those behind the current resurgence of bombing of oil facilities in the Niger Delta. Quoting the popular cliché that the wolf cries in the night and the child dies in the morning, Sara-Igbe insisted that the recent bombing of facilities in Niger Delta region was an orchestrated plan by Wike to set in motion, a state of emergency recently declared on Rivers State by President Bola Tinubu on March 18, 2025.

He insisted that the understanding by Wike group that the removal of the governor of Rivers state, Sim Fubara, through impeachment processes, would prove an uphill task, Sara-Igbe alleged, “made them to wear their thinking cap and they simply concocted the bombing option just to justify the constitutional need for state of emergency as the quickest alternative means to ease off Fubara from office.”

The PANDEF spokesperson lamented that the fate of Governor Fubara is still yet unknown since the declaration of state of emergency in Rivers State, saying “nobody has been able to get in touch with Fubara since the state of emergency was declared.”

Condemning the removal of the governor through a means which he declares as unconstitutional, he said, “all that we have heard since the incidence occurred is that the governor has been whisked away but we don’t know his where about till date,” Sara Igbe bloated. The PANDEF chieftain describes the removal of the governor as a coup against the people of Rivers State.
