Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, Senator representing Kogi Central at the National Assembly, on Monday, Marc, 24, dismissed as rumour the story making round that she has apologized to the senate.
Recall that an apology was one of the conditions given to her for a review of her suspension.
Natasha was suspended by the senate for six months on March 6 over the allegation of violation of senate rules on sitting arrangement levelled against her.
At the heat of that controversy she accused Godswill Akpabio the senate president of sexual harassment.
Meanwhile, recently stories have it that she has recanted and apologized to the senate for her misconduct.
Describing the story as the hatchet job of some individuals, she issued a statement saying, “the purported reports circulating that I have apologised to the Senate and retracted my position are completely untrue. I stand firmly by my words and actions, and I have not issued any apology to the Senate or anyone regarding this matter.”
Continuing she said, “it is unfortunate that some individuals are peddling falsehoods in an attempt to distort the truth and mislead the public. I urge the public to disregard the reports. Any official statement from me will come through my verified channels.”
Assuring her supporters that she still maintains her position, she said, “I urge the public to disregard these rumours and publications as they do not represent my position. My commitment remains to truth, justice, and the people I represent.”
“This is not just about me; it is about the integrity of our democracy. I will not be intimidated or forced into submission through false narratives. I appreciate the support and solidarity of my people. Rest assured, I will continue to fight for what is right and just,” she concluded.
