My First Four Years in House Of Representatives ...... Hon.Chinedu Ogah.

After four years as a member representing Ikwo/Ezza South federal Constituency of Ebonyi state, in the House of Representatives, Hon. Chinedu Ogah has given himself high marks based on his accomplishments. He said: "I have gone, I have served and I believe I can be trusted to serve again."


During a chat with the Legislatorvoice, Ogah stated that service to humanity is not just a desire but a passion he derives joy from doing. Citing his regular support tendencies even to his peers as a youth, Ogah reiterated that good gestures did not start because he was in the House of Representatives, saying "even as a Special Adviser to governor Martin Elechi, I ensured that my impact was felt by the people". Listing the numerous bills and motions to his credit, he said, "I believe what I did was the reason I was elected to represent my people."

On the possibility of repeating same in his second tenure, Ogah assured that his ultimate is not just to repeat but to surpass such feat. Taking this reporter down memory lane Ogah stated that his contributions in the House include the following bills and motions:


1. To Bill HB 712: National Agency for Food Technology Development Agency (Establishment) Bill, 2020.

2. HB 713: Federal College of Food Technology, Ikwo (Establishment) Bill, 2020.

3. HB 768: Federal University of Ndufu-Alike Ikwo Act (Amendment) Bill, 2020.

4. HB 769: Federal Polytechnics Act (Amendment) Bill, 2020.

5. HB 1314: National Emergency Management Agency Act (Amendment) Bill, 2021.

6. HB 1325: Alex Ekwueme Federal Teaching Hospital, Abakaliki (Est.) Bill, 2021.

7. HB 1326: Federal Medical Centre, Amagu Ikwo, Ebonyi State (Establishment) Bill, 2021.

8. HB 1783: National Entrepreneurial Development Institute (Establishment) Bill, 2021.

9. HB 1784: National Institute of Hypertension and Diabetics Research and Treatment (Establishment) Bill, 2021.


He went further to list the number of motions he had moved to also include among others a motion for the construction of a link bridge and reconstruction of Abakaliki-Ikwo-Obubra Road.

2. Need to revive and rehabilitate the abandoned Item Amagu Irrigation project in Ikwo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.


3. Rehabilitation of abandoned Water Scheme at Ohatekwe in Ikwo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.


4. Need to investigate alleged extortion, passport racketeering, and other corrupt practices by the Nigerian Immigration Services, NIS.


5. Alleged unscrupulous casualization by Banks in Nigeria.


6. Call to investigate the extra-judicial killing of Mr. Ebere Nwogha and Mr. Alika Izuchukwu Isreal by some policemen attached to the Igbukwu Police Station, Aguata Local Government of Anambra State.


7. Call on the Federal Government to immediately capture newly employed persons in Universities, Polytechnics, and Colleges. Examples: Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka and the University of Calabar.


8. Need for the regulation of charges of the DSTV channel to pay as you go.


9. Need for the provision of relief material to the war/flood victims of the Ikwo Local Government Area.


10. Need for the rehabilitation of Item Amagu Ikwo rice mill industry.


11. Need to end the intractable war between the people of Ochienyim Amagu Ikwo in Ikwo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State and Adadama in Abi Local Government Area of Cross River State etc.


Ogah WRAPPED IT UP to include the number of petitions to the House of Representatives under his watch as the people's representatives.


These are among others, he said include petition on CPL Umeh Sunday and 3 others against the Nigerian Army for the reinstatement of dismissed soldiers from Operation Zaman Lafia Dole (118 Task Force Battalion) Maiduguri.

2. ?????? ST. SEN. Solicitors (Solicitors and Advocates) on behalf of Mr. Sylvanus C. Uguru and 3 others for themselves and on behalf of the entire people of Ndufu Alike Community in Ikwo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State...Petitioner Against First Patriot Limited on the breach of Memorandum of Understanding and abdication of corporate social responsibilities and the Managing Director First Patriot Limited (Respondents).

3. Petition to investigate the killing of Police Officers (Ebonyians) killed in Anambra State.

4. Petition for the payment of all unpaid pensions of retired Police Officers in Nigeria etc.
