The Vice Chairman Senate Committee on South East Development Commission and Senator representing Ebonyi Central Senatorial District, Sen Kenneth Emeka Eze has urged the Board and Management of the Commission to pay special attention in the development of critical infrastructures in the region.

He admonished the commission to set as its goal, the development of a functional seaport in the South East. Senator Eze also charged the management to set as its priority, the establishment of an independent power plant for improved electricity supply in the region as well as development of a functional railway system in the zone.

According to him, “these are the critical infrastructures that can make South East an investment destination and industrial hub in West Africa.”

In a release by Kizito Nwankwo, Senior Legislative Aide to Sen Eze, the charge to the commission by the senator was made at the joint meeting of the Senate and House Committee of the commission, March, 4, 2025, when the Board and management of the Commission presented and defended its 2025 Budget proposal.
